A Day to Go and Some Very J-ollie News

I've made my farewells to Battlecat-I am staying on board my boat tonight but while Pam is away I have been on cat duty. The next door neighbour, Pat, takes over for the weekend (No she's not a postman) and then the cat rota kicks in. Poor old cat is knocking on a bit and gets confused when people are coming and going. Perhaps he has the cat equivalent of dementia (decatsia?)
Anyway we parted on good terms and he asked if his photo could go viral so here he is.

I must also now bid farewell to Norman the Gnome.

Gnormally he would come with me but luggage constraints mean he must stay on the boat. He will sulk as he is a great socialiser and on his birthday last GNovember got socialised as a coot! Sorry Norman -maybe gnext time.

Mixed bag of weather today with heavy rain and strong winds giving the boat a rock. Even the swans were knocking to come in out of the rain. That was followed by some pleasant sunshine and now it is hammering down.
Still Wales v England at Rugby to look forward to, followed by a curry with Adrian (my fellow crew member) and friends Roy and Annie. I am sure a curry and lashings of pop will aid my preparations for the flight tomorrow.

Ollie's ear
The Great News is that Ollie, Pam's son in Bristol, had an op this morning on his wrist (mangled over the years by various athletic pursuits) and I just had a text from Uganda to say all is well.
Excellent Ollie. I shall toast your recovery at half time and both Battlecat and Norman send their best. In fact let's celebrate with a picture of Ollie's left ear seen in the left of this picture taken on St Patrick's Day last year.
And I can celebrate it all again tomorrow (17th) at Luton airport.
